Beach-club afternoon
Potato Head (closest, iconic — infinity pool over the sand), Mrs Sippy (saltwater pool with diving platforms — built-in pool olympics), Atlas Beach Fest (huge, cheap day pass, built for big groups), Finns, Ku De Ta.
Dry season. Blue skies. Sea's about 28°C. Here's the menu — pick your own adventure, or just stay by the pool (also completely valid).
Thirteen ways to spend a day (or a night). Some are a 5-minute walk; some are a full day in a car. Mix and match — nobody's marking the register.
Potato Head (closest, iconic — infinity pool over the sand), Mrs Sippy (saltwater pool with diving platforms — built-in pool olympics), Atlas Beach Fest (huge, cheap day pass, built for big groups), Finns, Ku De Ta.
Balinese banquet or a seafood BBQ — shopped, cooked, served and cleaned up for us. Maximum chill, maximum bonding, zero logistics.
Gentle Class II–III rapids, jungle gorge, waterfalls along the bank, buffet lunch — everyone can do it regardless of fitness. Lots of laughing.
Clifftop temple 70m above the ocean, the chanting fire-dance amphitheatre at golden hour, then seafood on the sand at Jimbaran on the drive home. A perfect packaged half-day.
Book out a Seminyak spa for the afternoon — 1-hour Balinese massage, everyone floats out blissed. The easiest treat on the trip.
Clifftop bar above the surf break; the Sunday session (live music from 4pm, sunset, the famous crowd) is the one. Pair with a morning at Padang Padang or Bingin beach.
Tegalalang rice terraces + the Bali Swing + Campuhan ridge walk + Monkey Forest + babi guling + the art market. Classic Bali culture day — carloads of 5–6 with a driver.
Beginner group lesson at Kuta or Canggu — 2 hours, board + rashie + a real crack at standing up. Non-surfers watch from a beach bar.
Kelingking Beach (the T-Rex cliff), swimming with manta rays. Big bucket-list payoff — but a heavy 6am-start day with rough island roads. Keen subgroups only.
Through rice paddies, jungle trails and a cave tunnel. Muddy, loud, ridiculous fun. Tandem quads for the nervous.
Tegenungan (closest, easiest, you can swim) or Tukad Cepung (the hidden cave waterfall where a light beam hits the water mid-morning).
Self-run: pool relay, beer pong, a quiz, karaoke scoring, a daft trophy — across the whole trip. Free, and the thing people will actually talk about afterwards.
Motel Mexicola (Petitenget, reliably pumping), La Favela (jungle maze → club late), Da Maria, Shi Shi, La Plancha (beanbags on the sand), Old Man's in Canggu (Wednesdays).
All costs are rough late-2025 / early-2026 ballparks per person unless noted — they drift with the season, the dollar and how fancy you get. Treat them as "ish".
One pick per slot — morning, arvo, evening. Your day assembles below. Change your mind as many times as you like; it'll remember the last one.
